3D Sculpt Week 01

To break up the 2D stuff i thought id do a 3D sculpt every other week to break it up and get more efficient at hi def modelling.

This is a very loose interpretation of a Nazi super soldier, wanted to make the tech fairly rudimentary due to the time period and at the end of the day it was just an excuse to meld organic with hard surface.

Heaps of faults that could be changed but the purpose of these sculpts is to get something down quickly.

Daily Paint Week 4

So, so lazy. Really didnt have the motivation to draw out of the box this week so i did a couple of figures using different approaches and also a small flight craft ( grimey, grimey, grimey).

I think next week ill do a heap of head sculpt sketches to use as reference for a series of head sculpts i want to get done, there will no doubt be the obligatory old man and demon.

To show the vast difference between how long i take in my sketches i did this cliche robot vs chick sketch in around 2 1/2 hours where as the portrait study wasnt more than half an hour. So slow...

Ive been asked quite a few times how i work up my renders of characters and i figure these timelines could help.
One is from a past CHOW at Conceptart.org & another from an idea for Dominance War.

Daily Paint Week 1

Part of this diary will include daily paints that i do throughout the week, either while watching some TV or at lunchtime when the whip isn't cracking. Focus is on capturing mood and lighting, not after a 'finished product'.

Ill also post some timeline images to show the progression of these pieces as i find it fascinating to look at, and i hope you do too.

LMS its a knockout

Had fun with this year's Last Man Standing, and managed to progess to the 2nd round. Tried to really offer up something different to the rest of the field and for that i think i did ok.
